This Delhi based couple is travelling the world, sealing memories with a kiss

Indo-Ukrainian couple Shyam and Anna are doing what most of us can only dream of: travelling the world. And they are doing it in style!

We all dream of travelling the world but only a few of us manage to do it.

But Shyam and Anna are living the dream after they decided to break free from the daily grind to travel across 40 countries in 365 days.

The Indo-Ukrainian couple, based in New Delhi, will make you jealous of the photos from their journey around the world. And the cherry on the cake: A kiss in the backdrop of exotic locations to seal their memories.

“Long before starting on this journey, at different times of our lives, we had seen 27 countries. About 13% of the world. Then in between we were doing regular stuff and living regular lives. Settled down, if you may say,” Shyam tells Hindustan Times in an email interview.

“But isn’t regular boring? Are we born to just pay bills and die? And to work a 9-5 job that has no passion and purpose. We were missing our travel days. And so one day we said to ourselves, this is it – some things should change.” And that’s when they decided to follow their passion for travelling.

“On our journey, we get to meet people, try new food and drinks and check-in to exciting places”

Speaking about how they managed to fund their travels, Shyam, who worked as an advertising professional, said, “For funds, we saved enough. We never bought a car and never got into an EMI situation.”

Wherever they go, the couple makes it a point to take a picture of them kissing in that location and share them on social media with the hashtag ‘#kissisit’.

“When we said this is it, we decided that this is the time and the one single thing we want to pursue. It was our final call to a different life: To be able to gather new experiences and do new stuff, the way we wanted. #Kissisit is an expression that came along, given that kiss was a theme of our pictures,” Shyam said.

“However, in no way that we want to offend cultures, societies and rules. Also, it’s also not about breaking stereotypes or taboos. This is a fun, exciting thing that (we think) is also creative. Everywhere we go, people smile and even laugh but never take an offence.”
